Ender is a prime example of an outsider in the book Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card. One characteristic of an outsider is being different from the majority. Ender is much more intelligent than his peers, and they dislike him for being smarter than they are. He understand how to think in null gravity, which many of the other boys cannot do. Ender is also constantly singled out by the adults around him, so it is even more difficult for him to make friends and fit in. Even before arriving to Battle school Colonel Graff starts to isolate Ender. During the launch he says “There’s only one boy in this launch with any brains at all, and that’s Ender Wiggin.” This provokes another boy to attack Ender.
