Outside School Research Paper

I don't take part of any school activities such as sports or clubs because I really don't like playing sports and if any clubs ends after 4:30, the bus schedules will be mix up. I don't know why the bus doesn't go at the time it supposed to be. I also want to relax at home and injoy of playing video games so that I don't need to worry of other things. I am thinking that I could maybe join the chess club but only when I think it the good time to go. But right now I think I won't be any clubs or sports in this year after school. I think that doing outside school activities will help me as a student to have a good thing to apply for college because in every college want to see something that you done interesting in your life outside of school

All year long I look forward to summer. It's a time to be with friends, have no homework, and be carefree.…

In twenty years, as a board member of a scholarship selection committee, I would award the 17-year-old me a scholarship not because I am simply answering the prompt in my favor, but because I know that the 17-year-old me's dream is to go to college to gain a higher education and has made learning a high priority since elementary school. The 17-year-old me is determined, hard-working, and understands the struggle of having little money, so I would know that the scholarship would not go to waste; she would use it so that her parents can ease their worry about how she is going to go to college, since they are not able to make any contributions. Knowing that her family earns little income, she has spent most of her high school years dedicating her time to her schoolwork, hoping that she would be qualified to earn scholarships during her senior year. During the other majority of her time, she has volunteered for over 300 hours at various locations and participating in school clubs and activities.…

The mind is a garden that requires cultivation, and that is why I aspire to attend a liberal arts college. I fervently believe that liberal arts colleges teach people how to think because they require their students to take courses outside of their intended major. I want to be in an environment that pushes me to think conceptually and without censor. For most of my high school career, it has also been my dream to experience life outside of North Carolina. I have ventured out of North Carolina three times, two of which I was accompanied by familiar faces, but last October I was awarded a travel scholarship to visit Brandeis University just outside of Boston.…

Have you ever walked into school on the first day of the year, or back from a long break, and realized you don’t remember anything you learned? Many students, myself included, experience this problem often. Most teenagers spend their breaks from school watching television, playing video games, and doing pretty much anything that isn’t studying or school related, causing them to forget most of what they learned at school. One solution to this problem would be to have students attend school year-round with various, shorter breaks throughout the year. Students should attend school year round because they could be taught more information, their grades could improve, and it keeps them on a routine.…

I think the school system should change to all year school. I think the school system should change to all year school because of the different schedules or multitracks. All year school has many different schedules to accommodate for families and other schools calendars. The different multitracks are 45/15, 60/20, and 90/30. The first number is the number of days that the students and teachers are in school; and the second number is the number of days of their break.…

Many high schools across rural America have been consolidating in order to improve the quality and cost of receiving a high school education. Many studies have been done throughout the United States to determine whether larger or smaller high schools are better for students. Great Schools defines small high schools as schools with under 500 students (GreatSchools). Although many small high schools achieve great academic and economic success, the benefits of consolidation outweigh the costs for many small high schools throughout rural America.…

My name is Carlos Aceves my research paper will be on discussing the pros and cons of Independent work or Corporate / Franchise employment. The reason I chose this topic is very simple. Being recently retired from the United States Military after 21 years of active service, my best way to enjoy my retirement is to choose to work independently, than to be working a 40 plus hour a week than just working at your own pace and time. Choosing independent work for me is that I will always have some time on my hands so I can keep occupied.…

There are times when I feel as if I am unprivileged. I have the defeatist mindset where I think about all the stuff that I do not have rather than look at what I do. When taking a step back and examining my identity I am: white, middle-class, female, has a mom and dad who are still together, and a has meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In class, we discussed how an identity such as female could be categorized as privileged or unprivileged depending on the light that was shined on it (Sav, Class Discussion). I never really considered how privilege I was by my race.…
