Introduction:
Animal testing is a posing issue in our society. During this research project the question of “how should the issue of animal testing be addressed?” will be investigated. The reason as to why this question was picked is due to the amount of people that wear makeup that has been tested on animals, but are unaware of it. During this research assignment, the subheadings
 What are the laws and regulation of animal testing?
 What brands conduct the most amount of animal testing?
 How many people are aware that animal testing happens?
 What animals are the most commonly used in animal testing?
 Why are these animals used?
 What can be used instead of animals on testing?
 What effects does animal testing have on both the mental and physical wellbeing of the animals? will be used.

However brands such as MAC cosmetics and cover girl continue to test on animals. There are many reasons as to why these companies test on animals, but nobody can know for sure. MAC cosmetics used to be completely cruelty free until a percentage of the company was brought by Estée lauder in 1995.

How many people are aware that animal testing happens?
A survey of 48 was conducted to find out how many people are aware that animal testing happened. The results are shown in figure 2. The results were surprising and raised a lot of questions. These were, why don’t 63% of people know that these brands test on animals? Are the brands indicating that they are cruelty free on their labels? Is there a law that stats companies must indicate that they test on animals? Research was conducted to find out what these brands really stat on their labels.
