A. As defined by the Humane Society Animal cruelty can be either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. Whether the animal is a pet, a farm animal, or wildlife, the victim can suffer terribly.
a) Most cases of animal abuse/ Neglect are never reported, and unrecognized.
b) Exs; of Animal Neglect include: Starvation, dehydration
c) Poor shelter in extreme weather conditions
d) When an investigator or authorities find out about the neglect they inform the owner about the situation if not fixed within a certain number of hrs/days then the animal is taken from the premises

B. Behavioral signs & symptoms include; Fear, patience, whining, excessive whimpering.
a) Not all the time an abused & neglected animal can be rehabilitated; sometimes they have to be put to sleep.
b) When the shelters are overcrowded the animals have a certain amount of time to be adopted; if not adopted their chances are limited.
III. Animals have feelings as well as us. They should be respected, cherished, appreciated and loved. Laws vary from state to state in relation to animal cruelty n neglect.
These New York statutes comprise the state's anti-cruelty provisions. "Animal" includes every living creature except a human being. A person who overdrives, overloads, tortures or cruelly beats or unjustifiably injures, maims, mutilates or kills any animal, or deprives any animal of necessary sustenance, food or drink, is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for not more than one year, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by both. Exclusions include properly conducted scientific tests, experiments or investigations, involving the use of living animals approved by the state commissioner of
