Essay Template (3 Paragraphs) Directions: You are to write a three-paragraph argument essay which addresses the debatable issue: Mass Incarceration is the moral equivalent of slavery. Use the argument writing template below as a guide, but you will write your essay on separate paper or by creating a Google Doc using the template. The template itself is on the back side and you may refer to it while you write your essay. In your first paragraph you will: 1) Introduce the issue and describe background information. You should describe what you know about African slavery in the U.S. and what you know about mass incarceration, who it affects and statistics that support the issue. Be sure to define what moral equivalent, mass incarceration, and slavery are.
