Central Idea: Everyone can change how they speak or act if they practice it.
Preview: I will teach the class how to change the sound of their voice, how to fine tune their different voices, and how to use these new skills in everyday life.

Impressions have been used for centuries, dating back from the performances given during Roman and Greek empire.
i. An impressionist or a mimic is a performer whose act consists of imitating the voice and mannerisms of others.
Connective: Now that I’ve discussed what impressions are, I will now discuss how to learn voice impressions.
B. There are many different ways to do impressions but they all follow a set guide.
1. Before a person can begin learning the basics of doing voice impressions, they must first choose who they would like to impersonate.
a. By choosing who to sound like a person can narrow down the amount of research that they will have to do.
b. Once the goal voice has been decided a person can begin practicing to change their voice to someone else’s.
2. Once a person has decided on a new voice they need to listen to how the owner of their new voice sounds and pronounces their words.
a. For example: If a person was to pick a fictional character like, Mickey Mouse, then they would have to work on making their voice higher.
b. By practicing alongside a video that has the goal voice, a person can slowly hear the similarities in the two.
3. The final step in doing voice impersonations is to have people react to what has been practiced and have them give …show more content…

A. Closure: I have defined impressions and explained how to prefect practiced impressions, and when to use impressions. I hope this presentation helped teach how to learn impersonations, and fully understand the effort that goes into doing voice impressions.
