Informative Speech – How to write a resume
The thought of resumes and job interviews can be very stressful. It is important to have a quality resume to get a dream job you’re looking for. I’m sure that everyone has faced this situation at one point in time. If haven’t, then you have a skill that many of us wish we possessed. Throughout my career, I have attended several resume building workshops and drafted many resumes. Having a strong resume is vital and I think that everyone should learn how to write an effective resume. During my speech, we will discuss what a resume is, what to include in your resume and how to arrange its contents properly.
According to Dale Mayor in his Career Essentials Series, a resume is a marketing tool and a chance to sell yourself to a potential employer. The goal is to convey how you can benefit the company while stating the reasons why you most qualified. Keep it short and simple, list your qualifications, and what you can offer the organization. This will set you apart from the other candidates and land you a job offer. Make sure that your responses are persistent and that they are targeted toward the requirements of the job.
