A happy couple is expecting their first child. What an exciting time of their lives, but not everyone feels the same way. Abortion, a word that has so many emotions and feelings. So many women are turning to this “easy way out” of having a child. Abortion is when the pregnancy is terminated. “Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, over 57 million unborn children have been killed” (10 reasons). A lot of women are not ready to have children so they turn to abortion to make it all go away. What about the woman and man that aren’t capable of having children? The woman that didn’t want a child could have used the adoption method as an alternative to killing an innocent child.

“58% of women that have abortions are in their 20s,” (Abortion in the United States). That is a good percentage of young women that are killing innocent lives for their own irresponsibility. A lot of people try to argue and say that “they are too young to be having children and that abortion is the only way out” no, that’s not the only way out. The only way out is having the child and taking responsibility for their actions. If the mother absolutely doesn’t want a child or isn’t in the right financial state to care for the child there is always adoption. A popular argument for keeping abortion legal is that the abortion isn’t really killing the baby because it was never alive. My agreement to that is, five weeks after conception the baby is the size of a tadpole and their precious, tiny heart begins to beat. At six weeks the baby’s mouth, nose and ears are forming and the brain is starting to develop. At week 13 the baby now has fingerprints. So, tell me how that baby isn’t alive. The Unborn Victims of Violence law states that if a pregnant woman is killed and her baby dies too, no matter what stage of development, that is double homicide, so why isn’t abortion considered
