Outlast, the first one, takes place in an asylum. You’re a reporter reporting on the recent blackout of the asylum. You start off pulling up the the asylum and break in. In both your a reporter running away from people trying to kill you. You use a camera to navigate your way through the area in both games. You are both trying to investigate something weird that happened in the place you are investigating. You can’t fight back at all and have to run away the entire time. Both games have you in a seemingly hopeless situation. Both games being so similar obviously have a few differences. The second game is much more fast paced. The graphics are a lot better too. The second game I think is a lot scarier than the first. In the second game you get a feature that allows you to hear things further away. This is not the case in the first game. These are just a few of the similarities and differences. Both games are amazing pieces of work that are unbelievably good. My only issues of the second game would be some of the themes. They obviously want Knoth to be set up as a villain, but some of the things they say made me sick. Though I guess it worked then. The game is not for children. Even if you don’t mind the excessive amount of gore and guts it is still bad for kids due to some of the things they talk about. The amount of gore the game has is impressive. They have bodies that are hung up by their guts. This game is not for people who get queasy
