“God is dead!” This quote was spoken by John Proctor when he was being accused of witchcraft by Mary Warren before being arrested. John Proctor was a sinful man of Salem who was told the truth of the trials. While trying to save the women accused, with his wife, he simultaneously had to expose the truth of the trials. In the end, he was hung with Martha Corey and Rebecca Nurse. John Proctor and I both have similar traits such as we are both outcasts in our towns, are hardworking, and are determined to get things done. John Proctor and I both share some personality traits, one being we are both outcasts. John portrayed being an outcast in many different ways. For example, he never went to church and refused to have his third son baptized.

John Proctor showed his hard working abilities by doing things to get what he wants. He basically tried his hardest to make sure people knew the truth. Along with John, I am also hardworking. For example, during band, I push myself to try my hardest and make the band better as a whole, especially during the drum solo. Another example is my studying habits. When I study, I try my hardest to know how to do the things and/or memorize the things I have to learn. Finally, determination is a trait John Proctor and I both have in common. John Proctor himself was very determined near the end of the play. Not only was he determined to expose the truths of the trials, he was also very determined to have Elizabeth forgive him. Just like John, I am also very determined. In school, for example, I concentrate and pay attention in classes to do my best. I am also determined to have people like me, so, instead of saying what I want, I normally say what I think they would want me to. I do that because I want them to like me and to not be mad at me for anything. Being outcasts, hardworking ability, and determination are traits that John Proctor and I both display. Due to our similar traits and the love I have for my family, I believe I would have done the same things as John
