Of Mice And Men took place in the 1930s and the Great Depression, when men didn't have jobs or ones that didn't paid good money. The Great Depression took many men's jobs and they didn't have money. So men couldn't get jobs because they were black or hobos.Steinbeck is showing how people in this novel are judged or outcasts. In the novel Of Mice And Men, there are four who are judged for their disabilities or their gender or the color of their skin.

In the beginning it talks about Lennie and George's appearance. Lennie and George has too move again because Lennie had done a bad thing but he didn't know what he did, and the girl screamed.
