Out The Window Sociology

I do agree that a large part of our virtues or vices are learned behaviors, from family, peers, culture, society norms. I believe children who grow up in a home that is warm, loving, supportive and safe tend to learn those behaviors, and bring them to the outside world.

What I do not understand, and throws the entire thought process out the window, is when there is a rapist or murderer, whose home life was seemingly a loving stable place and yet they grow to do these horrible acts. I have a personal friend of mine whose child is in jail for rape and murder. I have known the person almost my entire life, no I was not always with them and certainly many things could have transpired over the years, the child's home life was not perfect, but
