Out Loud In Romeo And Juliet

Reading out loud can be very amazing, and at this point, we now have an idea on how to handle it, but the whole class will not be filled with reading. There will also be questions on the text. There are going to be some students who may try to get out of answering these questions by saying something like “I don’t know,” or they will try to even get out of reading out loud. This is what the technic No Opt Out is for. A teacher is in the middle of reading Romeo and Juliet, and during part of the text, there is the perfect sentence to test his students’ understanding of sentence structures. So he asks one of the student’s the subject of the sentence, and this students answers, “I don’t know.” There is also a chance that the teacher just wants to know a simple fact like, “Who is Juliet’s cousin? What is he …show more content…
One is giving the student the answer but having them repeat it back. This can either be done by the teacher giving the answer or having another student give the answer. The second is either the teacher giving the student a cue or having another student give a cue. After the student gets the answer correct, the teacher can follow it up with another question. This can be a similar question or a question that is generally the same. This is done to show the student that they can find the answer if they try. By doing this, the teacher stresses that everyone has to participate. If the teacher does not make everyone participate, the other students may slowly stop or the student not participating may not be learning. It is important to note that a teacher should not punish a student just because they reply with “I don’t know.” It is possible that the student is scared to answer or confused or really does not know. If a student still claims to not know the answer after the answer is given to them, then the teacher can be certain that the student is acting out, and he will not be punished for simply not knowing but for refusing to

This line said in Juliet's monologue could be interpreted as "Oh, Romeo, Romeo, where is Romeo?" by directly summarizing, but in context in the play, which becomes apparent with analyzing and synthesizing, it's translated to "Oh, Romeo, Romeo, why do you have to be Romeo?" This also evidently proves how the Shakespeare sharpens many skills used by high schoolers on a daily basis, based on how most lines will require them to use and practice these skills when reading the…

Shakespears’ use of figurative language in 2.2.1-32 shows that Romeo is not an authentic admirer but instead an immature and overdramatic young man. Throughout the entire scene in 2.2, Romeo is seen dramatically praising Juliet. In the very beginning he uses figurative language by comparing her to the sun “it is the East, and Juliet is the sun!” (2.2.3), a few lines later he compares her cheeks to stars “The brightness of her cheeks would shame those stars.”…

In the fourth scene of the first act in Shakespeare’s famed tragedy Romeo and Juliet, character Mercutio gives a farcical speech in effort to cheer up his friend, Romeo. This speech may seem irrelevant to the plot, for it does nothing to move it forward, nor does it reveal any crucial information about a character, but when analyzed, the speech can be taken as another perspective on the tragic tale of the two star-crossed lovers. In the story, Mercutio and Benvolio decide to take their heart-broken friend to a feast hosted by their enemy. On the way, Romeo explains that he is far too sad to dance.…

Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet explores the tragic love of two teens from warring families. Amongst neglectful parents and horrific coincidences, readers have questioned the causes that lead up to the young couple’s deaths for years, whether they result from chance or choice. In Act 4, Scene I of the play, Juliet confronts the Friar for help in avoiding her soon approaching marriage to Paris. Though this speech could characterize Juliet as immature and brash, Shakespeare’s use of powerful words, careful balance between mono- and polysyllabic lines, and even scornful language characterize Juliet more so as a determined and honorable young woman set on upholding her marriage to Romeo.…

As they discuss the questions presented with a partner, I am able to walk around and make observations about this discussion. If I notice that students are not properly demonstrating the skill, once the discussion is over, I may ask a student that properly discussed the skill share what they said with the entire class. I will then remind the students how to properly make an inference and address any misconceptions.…
