“Don’t get my personality and my attitude because my personality is me, and my attitude depends on you” When the person ( I do not know the name of the person who created this quote) said this quote , it describes the way Om , the antagonist in the Our Twisted Hero book acts towards others at school. People generally think that bossy people tend to be more pushy, annoying , but in Our Twisted Hero , Om takes it to another level. The Main point is that Om uses coercion on students to get what he wants because he was elected as class monitor.

For instance , there was one incident when Han , the protagonist in the story was cleaning the windows , Om then walked up to Han and told him that he’s not doing a great job at cleaning the windows.

When Om first saw Han’s lighter he said “ yah , it’s lovely” when actually he was asking for it. Han refuses to give Om the lighter , this made Om furious; he managed to keep his cool and told Han to lend it to him. Han of course said no which caused a conflict between the two of them. This shows that Om is a sycophant ; a self seeker who attempts to get what he wants by flattering another person.

Later in the story , Han realizes that the reason why Om is nice to his friends is because Om’s friends do tests for him by erasing their name and putting Om’s name instead. The teacher suspicious of Om and he said “ look at this, Om Sokdea , do you see the marks of the eraser where your name is written?” that was when Om realized that the teacher might of have discovered about his dirty little secret . Finally came the day when the new teacher caught one of Om’s friends erasing their names on the test, this made the teacher curious of what was going on. The new teacher was filled with enmity towards Om because the teacher knew that Om was the class monitor and he had full control over all of the students in the classroom. Which made the teacher realize that Om might have used coercion to get his friends to do his

After reading the essay “Heroism: Why Heroes are Important” by Scott LaBarge once, I went back again and read it a second time. The second time I read it, I looked specifically for the use of rhetorical appeals, and I then began to write my essay. The first thing I did was use my analysis of LaBarge's use of rhetorical appeals to create my thesis statement: “LaBarge effectively uses the rhetorical appeals of ethos, logos, and kairos to convince his audience that heroes are important.” I then looked for specific examples of each appeal I said he used in order to develop support for my thesis.…

“I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing.” This was a common phrase used by a Sergeant in the television show Hogan’s Heroes. This was a comedic series that was set in Germany during World War II, specifically in a Luftwaffe (German Air Force) prisoner-of-war camp. The prisoners at this camp were not like any other prisoners, their mission was to sabotage the German war effort, smuggle escaped prisoners to England, and make their commandant’s life as annoying as possible. Some people believe that the television show Hogan’s…

Informative Essay Elizabeth Svoboda, the author of “What Makes a Hero” created a book that will help individuals with identifying and understanding what a hero is with many perspectives and experiences. Throughout the book, Svoboda clarified what a hero was within each chapter and shown how people find out what they can do to help others or in other words be a hero. The book illustrated rhetorical appeals within Chapter five, which is titled “suffering and Heroism”; Svoboda put to use pathos, ethos and logos because she described the story of Jodee Blanco of how her emotions and feelings from being abused and not socially accepted throughout high school to becoming socially accepted and a hero as an adult. People can connect with pathos appeal…
