Health Vending Machines Research Paper

Our new service is going to be a health vending machine. Unlike the typical vending machines, ours strives to bring the healthiest of foods found in grocery stores to remote areas that are in need of better food choices. In these machines there will be fruits such as apples, bananas, bagged grapes, oranges, and strawberries. There will also be vegetables such as lettuce, broccoli, asparagus, and carrots. When it comes to beverages it will offer water, green tea, and blended fruit and vegetable drinks. This product requires customers to pay either through credit card, debit card, or cash and then directs them to punch in the letter and number that matches up with their desired product. As stated before, this product is planned to be placed in various locations around the country near other vending machines that sell junk food. In other words, this product can be placed in places such as schools, gyms, malls, company buildings, and even on the sides of buildings in cities. This will allow for anyone in any location to eat healthy on the go at any time of the day. People should use this service because it allows them to buy fresh foods at almost any location without the burden of going to the store and dealing long lines and bad customer service. This product also cuts down on the common excuse people use for not eating healthy. Most people say a common reason why they don’t eat healthy is because junk food is easier to obtain. With this statement we decided to target areas that are prone to the advertisement of junk food. Most people also don’t have the time to go grocery shopping so now they’ll have a very important part of their diet on the go and bad food won’t be the only thing offered to them. The general structure of the company relies a lot on keeping the vending machine as full as possible at all times with the freshest foods. This calls for technology to be built into the product that has the capability of detecting the supply amount by measuring the weight of each shelf. All of the fruits and vegetables will be supplied by farms in the area with the exception of products like tea, fruit and vegetable drinks, and bananas. These products will then be put into shipping trucks and shipped to a location that requires a refill. The key personnel are required to keep a look out for vending machines running out of stock and keep up the vending machines maintenance to make sure every customer has a great experience. There will be departments for production, research and development, purchasing, marketing, human resources management, and accounting finance. Production will take care of communication between manufacturers and maintenance on the product. Research and development will focus on ways to better implement the newest technology into the product while also coming up with concepts for the design. Purchasing department will focus on the exact products we’re buying and who we’re buying them from. Marketing department will focus on the advertisement of the product and think about the best locations to place the vending
