Now that we have figured out how they are connected, I’d like to talk about some examples. When it comes down to my generation, I know a lot of girls that would wish they were born in a different birth cohort and into the 1960’s. Most wish they had the vintage clothing like they use to have back then in the 1960’s. Each generation has their own unique importance; like for example my generation is very well know for technology. When people think about the Generation Z, they consider us as the last generation where the kids started to grow up with technology.…

Each of these groups were raised in different households with different standards and different ethics. While each group (your veterans, baby boomers, generation x’s and millennials) have a lot of the same attributes in the workplace, you have many different characteristics that define each generation as their own. Thanks to the new modern day technology that the under thirty generation has grown up with had helped them learn at a much better rate than previous ones before them. The Silent Generation Every generation has their own specific defining moment that makes everyone in the future look back on them in a certain way. Each generation is judged and examined by how they respond to that one defining moment, and in many cases are ripped apart because they didn’t live up to the expectations set out for them. These defining moments can be large scale for some like a World War or the Great Depression, but for others they go seemingly unnoticed until way after that generation is seemingly nonexistent. Each generation can be summed up by their defining moment, the Silent Generation (1925-1945) for example stepped up during one of the most trying times in history.…

As I compare myself to my 65 year-old father, I have noticed some striking differences based on our generations, a type of birth cohort which is named and typified. My father is a part of the Baby Boomers generation who benefits the greatest financially, where that generation is most affluent, whereas the millennials are the poorest because we are inheriting all the debt from older generations. I think it is interesting to see how the brain thinks differently between a younger and older generation. I think about how my brother who is 25 is much more progressive on social issues than my father. My brother believes the the rich should have higher taxes and that there should be more federal funding programs to assist the livelihood of those under…
