Otto Frank was the decision maker in the annex, in this case… when everyone found out that Mr. Van Daan was stealing food from the kitchen everyone turned to Mr. Frank because he always knew what to do. Any time something needed to be done he always knew what to do and everyone always looked up to him. (Hackett and Goodrich)

When Otto was sent to the concentration camp “Auschwitz” he was known to be a hard worker. At one point when he was sick and was taken to the infirmary, not many people are taken to the infirmary because the nazi’s didn’t really care enough to try to save their lives. Many people say that the only reason why he really truly survived was because he was a hard worker and the nazi soldiers took “better” care of them so when he got sick he was taken to the infirmary and was treated and continued to work and this is quite not normal especially for a concentration camp like Auschwitz because is was not just a work camp it was a death camp. …show more content…
Although Otto Frank survived the holocaust his heart was crushed when he went home and even months after everyone had been released no one in his family ever came home. When Otto went back to the annex everything was left exactly how it was left when the nazi soldiers destroyed the place. Even though he lost almost everyone he loved he later on moved to America and got remarried to Elfriede Geiringer and lived until he was 91 years old. Over the time that he was released from the concentration camp he made his daughter's dream come true by publishing her diary as a book and she is now known for her bravery and no one would ever know about her if it wasn’t for his survival in
