Otters are mammals that live all over America except for the deserts and Florida keys. Scientists think otters have been on this planet for 30 million years. There are 13 different types of otters so they live all over so in rivers lakes, and some salt water. Otters live up to 16 years in the wild but some lives can be doubled in captivity . Some otter species spend all their time in the water
