As a physician I intend to pursue a career with a broad range of opportunities to practice medicine in clinical, surgical and academic fields. In addition, I hope to cater to patients of all ages and from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Consequently, I am interested in Otolaryngology as it has the comprehensive qualities I am looking for in for a career. Furthermore, the head and neck region require sophisticated set of skills and knowledge that will challenge me as a physician. Besides that I am assisting a Resident in the department of Liver transplant with his research during the summer. However, that project does not require a lot of time commitment and therefore, I will essentially be available to work on an ENT research project for the rest of the summer starting June 18th.

From Fall 2014 to Fall 2015, I worked with Dr. Nancy Woychik in order to investigate the role of toxin-antitoxin systems, particularly those involving VapC27 and VapC28 genes, in conferring persistence to tuberculosis.
