As a child my mother never specifically told me about the golden rule, which is to do unto others what you want done to you. Even though she never said it was almost common sense at a young age. This concept was one of the earliest lessons I had in my life because my mom teachers and everyone else always told me to treat how I wanted to be treated. My mother would always remind me of this concept whenever I got into confrontations with my friends or family. This simple is one that sticks with us all into our adult lives.

In this theory one would say “what would the virtuous person do” and the answer would be to keep the child. To raise a child one has to have certain virtues like courage, kindness, patience, dedication and more. I think of myself as a virtuous person because I had the courage to choose my own route and not letting outside forces dictate my life. This situation relates to the golden mean concept of the virtues theory. In this situation I had to have just enough of virtues; but, not too much when making a decision. For example a person who isn’t courageous would be a person who is a coward. In this situation one might turn into a coward and run away from the situation like Kate’s boyfriend in the class example. Another type of coward would probably beg his girlfriend to get the abortion for his own personal reasons.
