Q1. In online programs, the educator’s role is one of the orientations, support, and guidance to assist learners in the success of their learning experience. The instructors help students to achieve their capability to construct knowledge and then apply it in different contexts. Also, they facilitate the interaction process between student peers and between instructor and student. The adult learners are active participants in their learning process. They create, interpret and recognize knowledge in individual ways. Constructivism considers prior learning, and is learner centered and results in a building, modification, and expansion of new knowledge.

From I Started this class I understand that online programs haven excellent resources and opportunities to maintain a healthy and constant communication between educator and learner, and between student peers to achieve the learning goals. Online programs enhance individualized feedback from the instructor in comparison to larger face-to-face classroom environments. Some professional studies demonstrated the applicability of constructivism in online distance education( Adelman, et al. 2009). In the article was described Neo’s study (2005) evidenced that students who engaged in online courses better understood the problem posed, worked collaboratively, constructed solutions, determined learning outcomes, and thought that they were more active participants in the learning process.
