When I decided I wanted to become a physician, I knew I wanted to be an osteopathic physician. Osteopathic physicians focus on the whole body when diagnosing a patient, make personal relationships with their patients, and help many underserved areas. I feel these qualities are what the medical field needs in order to progress and I want to be a part of that progression. After taking many biology and chemistry courses, I know that the body is like a machine; when one part is malfunctioning it can cause other problems to arise throughout the machine. When a patient comes in with one complaint, I think it is important to look at the body like a machine and find out exactly where the problem is stemming from and fix it. Osteopathic physicians
