S The patient is a 24-year-old individual who sustained an injury on 01/20/2017. The patient complained continued pain and weakness in both hands and wrists, as well as severe pain in her left thumb and palm of the right hand.

O Her physical examination revealed trigger points in the deltoid muscles and in the posterior aspect of the shoulder bilaterally. There was a decreased sensation in the right ulnar distribution and median distribution. Prior treatments included hand therapy, Ibuprofen and a brace for both hands.

A According to ODG, Voltaren® Gel 1% (diclofenac) is indicated for relief of osteoarthritis pain in a joint that lends itself to topical treatment of the hand and wrist. These clinical findings warrant the need for the requested
