In this experiment the students were required to provide urine samples three times in 60 minutes. This experiment was done to test urine volume, flow rate, total dissolved solids, and pH at each interval and record the differences in these variables depending on what each participant was asked to eat or drink. I hypothesized that the subjects asked to eat pretzels and drink soda would see an increase in total dissolved solids in their urine. In this experiment the 20 test subjects had to provide one urine sample at minute zero. Once this sample was collected they were to calculate urine volume, flow rate, total dissolved solids, pH, and use a urine test strip. After this they were to split into four even groups. Graph one looks at Urine volume. In every group their first urine sample was the largest, after that the sample dropped 14mL to 125mL and then rose again in the water and soda groups, while the pretzel and control group continued to drop. I think this trend is explainable because those who drank liquid voided more liquid. In the second graph there is no distinct trend. In all but the control group the flow rate started relatively low and increased over time, the control group started incredibly high (36.52 mL/min) and dropped rapidly. The third graph looks at total dissolved solids in the urine. In all but the water group the TDS dropped slightly and then rose again, but in the water group it dropped rapidly. I think this is explainable because purified water should have no solids in it and therefore is flushing any solids you may have. Finally, the fourth graph looks at pH; this graph shows that the pretzel groups pH dropped before returning back to normal, while the other three groups pH spike before dropping again, but the pH does not return to normal. Overall, there were no incredible trends to be found in this
