Holocaust. One word that can make your ears cringe and your skin crawl. One word that means so much and so many lives. Schindler’s List. A seemingly large part in the Holocaust that saved millions of lives. Steven Spielberg did a fantastic job in re-creating the horrific event. There were four people who primarily stood out in Schindler’s List, Oskar Schindler, Izthak Stern, Amon Goeth, and Helen. These four characters stood out, not only in the movie but in their personas and characteristics. Oskar was the pompous man who turned into somewhat of a decent person, Izthak was the brave Jew who risked his life for many, Amon who was frankly just an arrogant narcissist, and Helen the young women who was shy, yet outspoken enough to make a difference.

Goeth selected her from a line of Jewish women at Plaszow because she was the only one who did not work in a house before. While working for him, Hirsch suffers beatings and psychological abuse, for this it proves Helen is strong fro not killing herself. She is subject to Goeth's desire and disgust for her. Even though she is strong for a while she begins to lose hope, but is comforted by Schindler. Helen is one of those women that is quiet and trying to sneak past abuse and trouble. As in the scene where Goeth goes to the cellar where Helen to talk. When Helen is afraid and what I believe is stubborn because she does not want to give him the satisfaction of talking or admiring him, Goeth grows angry. He attacks and beats her mercilessly. Later, Schindler wins a bet with Goeth to take Helen to his new factory, Goeth is reluctant because he wants to grow old with Helen since she is so desirable, he evened promised to shot her if she were ever tried to be taken to a worse place, but he is bought with money.     He has to protect his workers from any German soldier who decides to execute them or from even worse, mass executions. Some of the cruel killing methods the Germans use include gassing the Jews in enclosed spaces such as buildings or trucks or the Germans just line them up and shoot them all at once.
