Unfortunately, the king of Byblos found the tree and cut it down to make it as the pillar in his palace. However, Osiris's wife, Isis spent a long time and finally found his husband in Byblos. After she persuaded the king to give back the body, Isis brought the corpse back to the Egypt.
However, due to the carelessness, Set found the corpse one day and he was so angry about that, so he cut the corpse into 14 pieces and threw them around the Egypt. Isis was extremely sad and found all the parts except his penis with the help from her sister Nephthys. They then put pieces together and asked Anubis to do mummification to Osiris. Although Osiris got reborn from that, he cannot still come back to the real world, so he went to the underworld and became the king of the dead.
The death and rebirth of Osiris just exactly reflects the cycle of harvest from another perspective. At the harvest season, crops were made into grain by grain just like the Osiris's body. But when we got the next harvest, crops would grow again just like the rebirth of Osiris.
