Orthognathic surgery is defined as the art and science of diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment determination to correct musculoskeletal deformity, dento-osseous and soft tissue in the jaw, and structures associated with it. Orthognathic surgery can be a correction of abnormalities of the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. The underlying disorder can be present at birth or may become apparent when patients grow and develop, or may result from traumatic injuries. The severity of this flaw is not adequate if only through dental care alone
