One reason why I would love to become an Orthopedic Surgeon is because of the satisfaction of helping your patients recover from their injuries and taking away the pain. I am the kind of person that is always willing to help people and volunteer involuntarily. When I put my mind to something and have the determination and confidence to do so, I can accomplish just about anything. That is why I think this career would very well suit me.

This is a 5-year commitment that prepares you to work in the field. The program offers doctors an opportunity to complete surgical rotations in areas such as general surgery, surgical ICU, internal medicine and the E.R. This commitment is basically giving the student doctor real life situations to prepare them for the rest of their career. Additionally, further rotations are offered in surgery, subspecialties, such as cardiovascular and orthopedic surgery. As residents get more experience in the program, they’ll have additional responsibilities. This is one of the hardest steps because it is very long.
