I never even thought about reading the statement when applying for a job. I honestly thought the statements were something old school that was out dated and no now looked at them. I thought they were just a thing businesses thought they had to do. Well, now I know different. And I will start paying attention to the statements such as the restaurants, the doctor's office, the grocery store, etc. as I see it is old school. The mission and vision statements are part of the strategic planning which is one of the four pillars of management Fayol (Humber EDU, 2015). Planning helps with future planning(Brannen, 2005).
