Although U of M is a public college, the average cost per semester for an out of state student is a whopping 26,600 dollars. The university allots college credit to students scoring a four or five on most Advanced Placement exams, including the English Literature and Composition exam. Acceptance into the University of Michigan is no small feat, acceptance rates hover around thirty percent; early admission applications are due on the first of November whereas the regular freshman application is due on February first. Despite the fact the University of Michigan has an impressive dental program and is consistently listed as one the top colleges in the United States of America and even the world, my interest began as a middle-schooler spending spring break in Michigan. The early admissions application is due on October fifteenth while the final applications are accepted on the fifteenth of January. The University of Georgia is a large, public, coed university with a slightly smaller cost than the University of Michigan or the University of Maryland; for an out of state student, a semester at UGA costs about 19,546. However, the University of Georgia provides three college credits for students earning a four on the AP English Literature and Composition exam and six college credits for those who earn a five on the exam, allowing students to save a couple hundred dollars for doing well in high school. I am not sure what draws me to the University of Georgia. I have no connections to friends or family in Georgia, I do not know anyone that attends the university, nor have I ever visited the state of Georgia, but maybe that is what attracts me to UGA; for once in my life I will not be able to plan everything going on around me and maybe subconsciously that excites
