Orphan girls in third world countries do not receive the education they deserve. They dream of sitting in a classroom rather that wondering how they will survive the night. Educating these girls will cause great improvement in their social, political and cultural surroundings. They do not get the education they need because they are not seen as important members of society and in some cases, they are not seen as members of society at all. Becoming a knowledgeable participant in society create abundant opportunities to not only solve crisis situations around the world but just improving the communities they are within. It has developed this way because the world has evolved as a male dominant society. Male dominance has caused the treatment of women to be as if they are just property. The documentary’s producers provide multiple reasons for this claim. The most compelling reason that is given are the different testimonies of the girls who are in the other countries that are struggling without an education. This claim is very strong and believable. Because of the visual presentation in the documentary, we get to see firsthand what these girls are going through and that holds the strongest merit in this essay. The situation becomes real to viewers. They witness the people who are going through these problems firsthand and learn some of their names rather than labeling them “Girls in third world countries”. The girls in the different countries have shown their own stories and what they have gone through. One great example of this was “I'm imprisoned in marriage. Only allowed outside in this cover. T here's no opening for my mouth to talk. My eyes are hidden beneath this embroidered cage.” The evidence to back up all of this is provided through statistics such as “Early marriage is the future for millions of girls. 14 million girls under 18 will be married this year.
