Irrationality In Shakespeare's As You Like It

Alternately, Orlando has contradicted qualities of irrationality and rationality. Basically, Orlando is the protagonist in the play. People in the kingdom adore Orlando because of his nobility and generosity. Respect to Oliver’s resentment, the hatred for Orlando grows as a result of the people. Orlando knows how to control the dilemma with Oliver by validating himself as a gentleman in a wrestling match. Whereas, the love relationship with Rosalind and Orlando is complex and foolish. Orlando has this senseless impulse to find Rosalind and set poems on trees for Rosalind to view. Especially, this is ridiculous because Orlando did not associate with Rosalind before which he instantly falls in love with her. Based on his poetry writing, Orlando has no control over this situation with Rosalind. He is ready to be a slave to Rosalind, which means to do anything for her The play, As You Like It by Shakespeare, is a medieval love comedy. Orlando, one of the main characters, falls deeply in love with Rosalind. Though, they both have different perspectives of love. Orlando has to show that he is certainly in love with Rosalind. In the play, there’s a conflict of realistic love and fantasy love. On the side, Orlando seems to have a problematic relationship with his brother, Olivier. Oliver dislikes Orlando due to his personality and people’s perspective of Orlando. Thus, Orlando has rationality of brother rivalry, but irrationality over love. Orlando rivalry with his elder brother was due to Oliver’s jealously towards Orlando’s personality. Yet, he compliments Orlando when the characters have exited the stage.
