The Orion Nebula (Messier 42, M 42, or NGC 1976) is a “diffuse” nebula positioned in the Milky Way and it is located in the south of Orion’s Belt in the constellation of Orion. The first person to discover Orion Nebula is Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc in 1610. It is seen to the naked eye at night and it is the brightest nebulae. The distance between the Earth and Orion Nebula is 1,344 +or- 20 light years. It is 2000 times the mass of the sun and referred as the Great Nebula in Orion or the Great Orion Nebula. It is the most nebulae that is examined and photographed by people at night and the most deeply studied cosmic features. This nebula has helped researchers to understand the process of how stars and planets are formed from failing clouds of gas and dust. My decision to take the passengers to the Orion Nebula is because I want the passengers to see how stars the planetary system is molded. Orion Nebula is observed by using a telescope and it was first seen in 1966. The Orion Nebula could even be seen using
