Everyone is aware of the stereotypical high school cliques. There’s the so called nerds, popular, sport stars and the rest are fill ins. Nobody wants to be known as just another person in the back of the room. Therefore, people start changing themselves to be like everyone else. These people become shallow, lost, and confused. They become depressed because they get afraid that they will not be accepted for being real. By following the crowd people start blending in together. So, there are the fearful and there are the brave. Throughout life it gets clearer that the brave always win. The brave get noticed and appreciated. The brave are the ones who get that big promotion, internship or golden medal. They achieve these things simply because they are original. Their work is original. They don’t follow the crowd and they stand up for what they believe in. The brave are the few people who are fully and completely genuinely themselves. They don’t carry the weight on their shoulders of people’s negative opinion.

They’re a bountiful people in the nation who rather be original, while there are some people in teh universe who want to be an imitation. Additionally, from my perspective, it is better to be original than to be an imitation due to Rosa Parks standing up for her rights, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. views on segregation, and my own personal experience dealing with peer pressure. First of all, Rosa Parks was a female activist who fought during the Civil Rights Movement. In Montgomery, Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement, African- Americans had to sit on the back of the bus while the whites can sit on the front of the bus. However, on her own, Rosa Parks despised the fact that she had to sit in the back of the bus.…

People have many views on if the book “The Giver” by Lois Lowry is a utopia or dystopia. After reading this book I would have to argue that the community in “‘The Giver” would be a dystopia. There are many reasons why I think this, like they don’t know what the meaning and/or feeling of pain. If you do three things wrong you are out, meaning you are died, you can choose to take your life at any time too. You don’t have really any freedom, you have to dress a certain way for your age group or can’t do something because they say you are too young.…

It more important to be yourself because that's the way god made us if he wanted us to be the same he would of made us all look the same in every aspect, we would be like robots. It's better to be yourself than to copy others because one it's called being original. I grew in a country where people aren’t defined by their color skin but by their actions. Where I was everybody’s daughter and everybody was a “compadre”. A close-knit community with an expressive vocabulary, where words aren’t enough to describe what’s in front of our eyes. I never felt different, I always felt part of everything—the trees, the singing birds, the smiley old lady, I was part of something greater than me. I could say that at the time I was sheltered from the world or that as a child I didn’t see diversity, all I saw was people.…
