The first issue of organizing and completing a heavy load of homework from college classes may look very different depending on which stage of maturity a person is in. First, the “Later Childhood” stage, I believe may depend on someone else such as a teacher or parent to give instruction or encouragement on how to tackle the work load and or homework. Without direction, in this stage a person may make choices that affect the ability to get the work done. For example, I may choose to spend time with friends or on Facebook and then feel that is a good excuse for not studying, being pressed for time, or not getting the homework done. At this stage a person may be overwhelmed easily and or stressed. What is manageable may seem like way too much. I think at this stage if the person has been taught organizational skills they start implementing them on their own. If they are struggling they blame someone or something else and do not take responsibility for their actions. They start using study techniques they have been taught to prepare for tests. One characteristic at this stage would be to just get the work done. There may not be a lot of consideration with going above and beyond what is required. In early adulthood a person in college classes will do the bare minimum and may just be looking to get a certain grade or pass the …show more content…
I think many of the concepts I explained about the first issue can also apply to this area.

More guidance in how to prepare for tests is needed. Time management and consideration for what time is needed may be challenging at this stage and there may be an expectation that they get the exact information that will be covered on the test.
A person with “Early Adulthood” characteristics is able to take more responsibility and realize that they need to take the time to study but may not be able to manage time or think about the time it takes to prepare of tests. People at this level of maturity implement what they have learned in the past whether it works or not and may not be willing to ask for
