We often think of organization communication as the communication within an organization, including but not limited to, sending emails, writing memos, talking on the phone, having meetings, teleconferences, video conferences, speeches, presentations (Koschmann, 2012). 75% of our day is spent in: Speech, Writing, Reading, Listening, Nonverbal communication and Memory. Verbal Communication is 7% words, 38% tone and 55% all other. When you see those statistics we find that organizations literally are communication (Koschmann, 2012).

Typically, when we think of communication within an organization, it’s as if the organization was a container and communication flows through that container (Koschmann, 2012). The contents hold the

People often communicate for many other reasons than just the transmission of communication (John M. Ivancevich, 2013). Communication problems are one of the main difficulties for most organizations (Koschmann, 2012). Directors are all about the bottom line, no none sense, get to the point, great administrators, delegators but not very good listeners as a matter of fact they are the worse listeners of all four styles (Tony Alessandra, 2008). Reason being they don’t have tons of time and for the most part they already know the answer (Tony Alessandra, 2008). Socializer goal is fun, excitement, recognition, visibility and as a result they talk about their favorite subject themselves (Tony Alessandra, 2008). Generally speaking socializers are generally speaking, they have the gift of gab and the power of precision (Tony Alessandra, 2008). They have the ability to get people more excited about their ideas they even they are themselves (Tony Alessandra, 2008). When dealing with directors and socializers it’s important to be direct because they are. Thinkers are the great planners, organizers, and problem solvers (Tony Alessandra, 2008). They are great at creating systems, highly inventive and they are very intellectual people (Tony Alessandra, 2008). So if you want a job done and you want it done right go to a thinker if you want it don’t on time think again (Tony Alessandra, 2008). They tend to procrastinate getting finished because it has to be done and be perfect (Tony Alessandra, 2008). Relators seek harmony close personal one to one relations (Tony Alessandra, 2008). They are the great team players, loyal, reliable, listeners (Tony Alessandra, 2008). They are the glue that holds a team or relationship together however they don’t like conflict and don’t like to rock the boat so they tend to go along with things and it’s easy to hurt their
