Professional organizations can be found for almost any specialty that you may have an interest in. Some organizations can be informal and joining can be as simple as signing up for their monthly newsletters. Other organizations have a formal vetting process which may require you to send in sample of your work, proof of education and references. They may even have an entry exam that you must take or you might need to be sponsored by an existing member. (www.mbaworld.com) The AMBA boast an impressive global membership of 18,000 members. They host a global database of MBA level jobs. Anyone can register to become a member however your college must be accredited with them in order to become a full member. Since registering is free, this would be a good organization to sign up with even if you cannot become a full …show more content…

How can belonging and participating within a diverse community aid in the development of your academic, social and career goals? I usually enjoy starting my papers of with my name Taylor Andrews, what I’m entering for, the battle royal for everything, and my level a EKU JR, and arrogantly but rightly deserves it. Then I would give a generic merriam-webster dictionary for diversity; the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc, and then give my view. You may not agree but still feel as if EKU has a large way to go compared to Rutgers University in NJ with a diversity. Diversity plus Eastern Kentucky University is supposed to equal melting pot, but I have not seen this diverse world clearly.…

What is the importance of being a member of a professional organization? It is important because becoming a member not only looks great on resume, it also shows involvement on making this career as more than just another “job”. It means that you are interested in doing more than just working as another cardiac sonographer in the medical field. In some annual meetings of these organizations you’ll get the time to network with other cardiac sonographers from other hospitals or clinics from all over the country. This is a great opportunity to meet people and ask questions about their salary, what equipment they use, etc.…

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority is an organization that I wanted to be a part of. When I first had an encounter with the women of this organization I saw how nice they all were, and I mean genuinely nice. This included tutoring, serving the less fortunate, and acting as a child of God.…

Receiving the letter letting me know that I am eligible to apply has been my goal ever since I entered high school. Sisterhood is a bond we share for eternal life. Iota Lambda makes it their responsibility to manage risk amongst members and provide a safe environment for all members. There are many stereotypes placed on Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated as well as other Greeks when it comes to hazing, safety, and security. Despite external views we are first and foremost a non-hazing sorority and in no way wish to belittle or humiliate any of our sisters. Our Sorority places emphasis on what a sisterhood truly is through tradition, history, bonding, teamwork, positive influence, and motivation.…

Reflection On Professional Organizations I have been conducting research on some professional organizations and I have determined that ASHP would be a good match for me. This is because ASHP is an organization that is heavily involved in advocating legislation to benefit pharmacists, patients, and the health care system. Some of the most important issues to me are getting the pharmacist more involved in a patient’s health care and to make health care in general more efficient. ASHP is attempting to accomplish these tasks by actively advocating legislation to meet their goals.…
