This meant by starting at the top of the infographic with the complete title of the essay. Then I provided a brief definition of organic food. The next section provided the reader with cancer causing agents that are not in organic food, but are in some non-organic foods. Following the cancer causing agent section, I followed up with the British Journal of Nutrition where 343 scientific studies were done on organic foods. I felt the 343 studies followed nicely behind the section stating that organic foods do not have the cancer causing agents such as pesticides, metal toxins, and chemical additives. Moving on from the British Journal of Nutrition section, I thought it would be necessary to remind the reader that many non-organic foods have the potential of having four cancer causing chemicals added to food for human consumption. When determining what to follow after the list of cancer causing chemicals, I provided the reader with something positive and uplifting. For example, the next section discussed the various companies that are moving in a positive direction in removing harmful chemicals in making non-organic foods. The font and color were rather easy to select. Determining the size to use took careful planning, and I decided to use a large bold type so the reader would immediately take notice of the infographic. Searching the web for digital images was fun, but the hard part was making sure the images were cited correctly. Once all the final touches were completed in making the infographic visually appealing, I could finally stand back and reflect on the project.
Reflecting on what was required to create the infographic, from determining the information to be used, placing the information in logical order, to putting the final touches on the infographic, I can honestly say that infographic required a lot of time and effort. The infographic is not a project that you can do in an evening; it takes time and careful planning.
