Introduction: There are many explanations that can describe what Organic Agriculture is. However all the explanations ends to one and only statement. “Is a system that relies on ecosystem management rather than external agriculture inputs” It’s a function that eliminate the uses of veterinary drugs, synthetic inputs, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and irradiation. Organic agriculture helps in the preservation of wildlife. Toxic chemicals are avoided during planting. Instead, mixed planting is used as a measure of pest control. By maintaining field edges and margins, organic agriculture offers a retreat to wildlife instead of taking it away. Additionally, organic farming helps in the conservation of biodiversity. This is done by the using farming methods which are natural instead of using chemicals. This creates a balance in the ecosystem and prevents a particular species from being dominant over the others.
Food that is grown organically has enhanced taste. This is because the food contains sugar content which provides it with better taste. This ensures that the quality of food is high since the quality is decided by how the food tastes. Also, the food that has been cultivated organically has a longer shelf- life since the structural and metabolic integrity of organic plants is greater than crops that have been grown conventionally. This enables the food to be stored for a longer period of time. Food that has been grown organically contains more nutrients than food that has been grown conventionally. The vitamin and mineral content in a food item is what determines its nutritional value. Since the crops are grown organically, nutrients contained in the soil are passed on to animals and plants. There is also a wide market for consumers seeking organic food due to its high quality.

Since the farmers do not use pesticides, the plants that are grown become more vulnerable to diseases and pests. Farming can also be labor intensive and the price of feed that is organic is much higher than feeds that are non-organic. These costs that the farmer incurs are passed down to the customer thus making the price of organically grown food more expensive to purchase than food that is grown conventionally.
