A person can donate 6 organs among other things like tissues. It’s important to know the organs capable of giving to someone. Being educated about these things is good as if someone decided to become an organ donor they know what to expect. The organs that can be donated are the heart, lungs, intestines, pancreas, kidneys, and liver. (Live on NY inc. , 2015) Remember you only need one of some organs to live, so why not help someone out? Next is Evonne’s story. Evonnes daughter Tanya started having bad headaches for about 2 weeks when one day she was brought to the hospital for a brain aneurysm. Tanya was now brain dead. The family was asked if they wanted to donate her organs and after long thoughts they decided to do it. Evonne knew her daughter would have said yes if she was able to make the choice herself. Evonne later looked at her daughter’s license and saw she was an organ donor. In Evonnes own words she said “There is nothing else you can do with the organs, do not take them to the grave. Leave them, somebody is crying, somebody is begging, somebody is in need.” (South Carolina Donor Registry, 2008) Now let that sink
