Fast forward a couple hundred years, skin was one of the most used organ by surgeons. Many surgeons in the early 1900s had failed when they tried to give organs from one person to another because patients died quickly after their procedure from infection or lack of scientific advancements. Each organ is considered very expensive and difficult to receive. According to CBS Local, a kidney could be sold for $262,000 on the black market. A lot of people from different parts of the world steal or murder for organs to sell on the black market because the it allows a person to sell an organ for thousands of dollars more than they really cost if they were to have it done in a hospital. Also in CNN it also states, “A new report claims that China is still engaged in the widespread and systematic harvesting of organs from prisoners, and says that people whose views conflict with the ruling Chinese Communist Party are being murdered for their organs.” This goes to show that people are willing to partake in illegal activities to get the organs to sell. This entire process is called organ trafficking, technically still the selling of these organs but in an illegal manner that is very inhumane. Doctors sometimes are the ones that are willing to put their patients in danger. It is known that doctors sometimes purposely decline a patient with the correct treatment, thus leading them to die earlier so their organs can be retrieved for their own profit.
