Oral speech- should abortion be illegal in all states of Australia
Taken away because of the fear of responsibility,
Taken away and denied opportunity
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't you love me?

Taken away after a life so short,
Taken away and pushed to abort
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't you love me?
Couldn 't you see that I too, had the same right to opportunity?

I began to grow inside you,
I know you were scared,
But mama,
I was too.

Taken away because of your fear of society,
Taken away because it was against your sense of propriety
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't you love me?

Taken away and denied my life,
Taken away in such a strife
Taken away so I could not be.
Oh, mama, didn 't

During Advance Placement English III we were talking about our senior projects and an individuals essay was about abortions. I am very pro life and know a bunch of information on topic, so I was giving her ideas on how to structure her essay. She was pro choice, so we had conflicting ideas about what to put into the essay. Since I am so pro-life I tried to explain to her why I am pro-life, telling her that if a doctor preforms an abortions it is okay to everyone, but if the women gets beaten and even if the individual does not know that she is pregnant, the man can be charged with murder of the baby. So if this woman was on the way to get an abortion and she gets beaten, the person can be charged with murder and assault, but if the women gets…

There are a multitude of reasons, maybe better worded in this case as excuses, why abortion has remained such a polarizing issue in American society in the decades following the Supreme Court ruling, Roe v. Wade, in 1973. Roe v. Wade made abortions prior to the last three months of pregnancy legal and required “the state to justify any interference with the abortion decision by showing that it had a ‘compelling interest’ in doing so” (“Roe v. Wade - Then and Now”). In the case Casey v. Planned Parenthood (1992) the new standard for abortion rights came to include that a state cannot place “undue burden” on someone seeking an abortion (“Roe v. Wade – Then and Now”). It was a decision made in favor of women’s right to privacy and her right to…

A woman’s right to privacy says that she has the right to make any decision without government interference. The government should not influence women because only they know if they are ready for a child. If a woman becomes pregnant, it is most likely her fault for being involved in sexual activity before ready to become a parent. If she is not ready to be a mother, give the child up for adoption, but do not kill it! Another right guaranteed to woman is the right to decide the number and spacing in between children, so the government has to make abortion legal.…

Such as, California and New Mexico relaxing the restrictions on abortions. Abortion is increasing tremendously. There are 40-50 million abortions that occur per year, that means there are 125,000 unborn babies that die every day. In fact, Frank Pavone states that “If we took a moment of silence for each person lost to abortion we would be silent for over 100 years.”…

One reason abortion is a social issue is because people don’t know whether it should be either illegalized or legalized everywhere. Tom Anderson says,” if abortions become illegalized then it will have a significant impact on women and would cause society to become like the third world. ”(Anderson,3) Which he describes as a place where the population suffers from poverty, malnutrition, treatable disease, poor health care, unemployment and lastly a place where women feel little empowerment concerning their reproductive lives. (Anderson, 3).…

I.Introduction The topic of abortion is currently one of the most controversial issues. The 1973 supreme court ruling of Roe v. Wade allowed for women to legally obtain abortions throughout their entire pregnancy, however, conditions were put into place that allowed for states to regulate abortions during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The right to have an abortion is protected under the constitution’s 14th amendment which protects the basic rights of citizens. This ruling has left our country divided in half by those who are for and against abortion. Those who oppose Roe v. Wade are referred to as pro-life and those in agreement are pro-choice.…

The reasons for these women not to keep their unborn child were: the child would interfere with school or work, they would not be able to afford the child, or they did not want to be a single parent (U.S. Abortion Statistics). Girls who become pregnant at an early age and most, if not all, of these reasons apply to them turn to abortion as a reasonable solution.…
