I received my scientific knowledge being a biology major at California Lutheran University. I’ve taken courses in microbiology, anatomy as well as biochemistry. I have also achieved strong communication skills through being a peer advisor for my university. I assisted in putting together our yearly orientation and welcoming new students and their families into our community. I would communicate with students over the phone and during their semester long class called “Freshman Seminar”. Also, I co-taught the class with a faculty member as well as an administrator, giving information on multiple topics involving coursework, registration and campus life activities. My studies have instilled in me the importance of hard work, dedication as well as the importance of enjoying the moment. I appreciate the sheer desire to help their patients. I also respect the lengths an optometrist will go to make sure their patients are assisted well. I admired the connection the doctor had with her patients as well as her ability to be very personable with them and keep them comfortable.
