Pursuing a career in the medical field can be a daunting task. Up to 12 years of postsecondary schooling combined with the competitive nature of the field is enough to deter most people away. However there is an option in the medical field that could be more appealing, optometry, the practice of examining eyes and prescribing lenses. Optometry allows people like myself the opportunity to reap the benefits of being a doctor while skipping out on some of the less attractive aspects of the medical field. Unlike normal physicians, optometrists have a relatively easy, low stress job. In fact, optometry is the number 1 easiest, high paying job according therichest.com.
