Options after high school

My career hoped to have acquired after graduation is to be of service to my country, by being in one of the five branches: marine corps, coast guard, navy, air force,or the army. The steps to take to join one of these admirable forces would to take an (ASVAB) test, that determines what kind of career best fits you and what job opportunities open up to you. Another step comprises of me going to Oahu, when the test is passed and take a physical test and some training to teach and show me a few things waiting for me at basic training. The skills learned in this program on Oahu should give me the necessities to prepare for basic and hopefully not leave applicants completely baffled on their first day of training.

The people that tend to stand out the most are usually the mechanical engineers and pilots because of how hard it is to get into the air force due to the vast knowledge of mathematics and possibly verbal maybe even english comprehension that is called for, to even be an applicant for this career. The different branches all have certain requirements, but they do have some common requirements. For example applicants have to be fit, mentally and physically, they also need good math and verbal communication and comprehension, and need to at least score above a 50-60 on the asvab test. The air force requires high school seniors or graduates to achieve a 36(AFQT) score minimum(www.military.com). Although GED holders however must score at least a 65(AFQT) to become an officer. But the asvab is not required to join the Air force as an officer, however most officer candidates must pass Air force (AFOQT).(www.military.com)

With a qualifying score, one could be anything he wanted to be if the positions are open. In the Army one could be a medic, military police, dental assistant, or even a pilot with the appropriate education and training levels. The Army is a soldier first, job second type of branch, so yes, technically everyone is infantry, but most do not carry guns everyday unless it is required. How does your resilience affect your ability to think and act ethically? Resilience is probably one of the most profound overt actions that enhance or hinder critical thinking. When an individual lacks the ability to reason through the elements of critical thinking, then their bounce back ability will also lack when dealing with stressful situations. When cognitive functioning is misfiring, and one simply starts to reason in absolutes versus finding an array of alternatives, then it can be clear that a lack of resilience is starting to set in. Critical thinking is really the most well rounded way to identify what it truly happening in a situation, or understanding concepts.…
