Global Warming is spiraling out of control causing increasing atmospheric temperature which contributes to negative climate changes. Due to transportation emitting twenty-three percent of greenhouse gas emissions, it is only fair to say that countries all over the world should enforce proper regulations and requirements to slow down these emissions. Renewable energies has created many solutions for reduce greenhouse gases. Once these alternatives are implemented more effectively the dilemma of global warming will become less of an issue. Integrating low burning fuels, frequent car maintenance, and shifting to minimal public transit services can have exceptional results towards reducing greenhouse gases. …show more content…
Between 1990-2012, GHG emissions in the transportation sector increased the most out of any other sector (i.e. electricity generation, industry, agriculture, residential, or commercial). Due to inadequate operating systems in vehicles, eco-friendly amenities were not added until after the Millennium. Amenities such as storing energy from braking and using it later, lessening the weight for the materials used to build vehicles, and increasing aerodynamic vehicles with better shape design. The EPA has developed a SmartWay Program to encourage reduction of emissions. Cars without up to date operating systems could use this programs like, driving sensibly. Driving sensibly reduces emissions by avoiding quick acceleration and abrupt braking. Engine idling produces 130,000 tons of carbon dioxide. Abstaining from idling for ten minutes can save the environment from one pound of carbon dioxide. Drivers lack to maintain car checks by 40% with an additional 10% skipping car maintenance altogether. Frequent oil changes, maintaining mechanical changes, and driving with fully inflated tires can positively impact greenhouse emissions. By changing car habits and maintaining the engine it could reduce smog in each state, reduce asthma, and lung
