When thinking about the concept of luck, it is easy to assume a person finds good fortune all on their own. However, luck is not just about opportunities. Oprah Winfrey stated “luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” In order to be lucky, a person does need opportunity, but they also need something else - preparation. True luck occurs when there is a perfect storm of opportunities and a person prepared to handle them when they arise.
