Have you ever wondered if someone famous has ever failed and how they came over it? Well I’m here to tell you about Oprah Winfrey and she has had many failures, successes and accomplishments. Read on to learn more. First, How did Oprah Winfrey fail? When Oprah was 9 years old, she was repeatedly sexual abused by men in her family. It went on for a while and her mom didn’t even know until one day she told her about it and she went to go live with her dad in Nashville. At age 19 she attended Tennessee State University. She loved it in Nashville, even though her dad was always strict, she said “My dad saved my life and I’m thankful for that”. Now you know one of Oprah Winfrey’s failures in life. Secondly, How did Oprah Winfrey become successful? Oprah Winfrey wanted to turn her life around so she became the anchorwoman of a TV news broadcast in Nashville. She was the first African American women to anchor a newscast in Nashville. In 1984 she was a host on “A.M. Chicago” a local T.V. talk show. In 1985 the show got renamed “ The Oprah Winfrey Show”. One of the accomplishments is that she hosted a talk show called “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and it became a big hit. In 2000, she cofounded O, The Oprah Magazine, a women's lifestyle magazine. In 2006, Winfrey launched Oprah & Friends, a talk radio channel on satellite radio. It was renamed Oprah Radio in 2009. And went off air in 2015. Oprah Winfrey launched OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, a cable television channel, in 2011. Winfrey has won many awards, including numerous Daytime Emmy Awards as best talk show host. In 2000, Winfrey was awarded the Spingarn Medal for her achievements in television and publishing. Oprah Winfrey is also an actress.
