Oprah has three siblings which are Patricia Lofton, Patricia Lee Loyd, and Jeffrey Lee. Oprah’s mother left when she was only 1 years old. So, Oprah had to live with her grandma. In the show she says, “I was beaten regularly”. This shows that her grandmother would beat her very often. In the show she also says, “so then i got another whipping for getting blood on my dress and she would whip me so badly that i had welts on my back and the welts would bleed”. This shows that she would be in bad conditions after her grandmother would beat her and whip her. Oprah as a young child was also sextually assulted and raped at the age of 9 years old by a cousin!
