As a child I know everyone has someone they look up to or admire. Some people admire people on their TV screens or people they know in person. For many different reasons people become an inspiration to others around them without trying. The admiration people have for others sometimes start at a young age. For myself, I know my admiration started about ten years ago. Ten years ago I started to pay close attention to this woman whom seem to be on TV every day. At that age I wasn’t sure why she was on TV every day, the only thing I knew was she had great things to say. This woman didn’t sugar coat anything. This woman wasn’t afraid to tell her perspective on things. While this woman knew people were listening to her, that did not stop her from expressing her feelings

When analyzing Oprah Winfrey by the Five Practices of Effective Leaders I notice lots of things!
1. Model the Way: As of right now I stay listening to Oprah and her speeches. Oprah speaks on never giving up and keep trying. She speaks about never giving up and always overcoming obstacles. I feel Oprah practices what she preaches. Oprah models the way, she stands by her advice. Oprah overcame and probably is still overcoming obstacles, but she has made it, she has been successful with her dreams. She has modeled the way.
2. Inspire a Shared Vision: Oprah had a vison, which she shared. She had her own talk show now. Now Oprah has her own channel. Oprah keeps having visons and she continues to have people join her to make her vison come true.
3. Challenge the Process: I feel Oprah Winfrey really did challenge the process. Instead of Oprah completing school and finding a job, she jumped in the first window that opened. Oprah did not if she would be successful or not. Oprah quit college to follow her dream instead of waiting a year or two to finish college. To me that decision was a challenge, all Oprah had was faith in God and in
