As a child I know everyone has someone they look up to or admire. Some people admire people on their TV screens or people they know in person. For many different reasons people become an inspiration to others around them without trying. The admiration people have for others sometimes start at a young age. For myself, I know my admiration started about ten years ago. Ten years ago I started to pay close attention to this woman whom seem to be on TV every day. At that age I wasn’t sure why she was on TV every day, the only thing I knew was she had great things to say. This woman didn’t sugar coat anything. This woman wasn’t afraid to tell her perspective on things. While this woman knew people were listening to her, that did not stop her from expressing her feelings and thoughts on things. This woman was Oprah Winfrey. Oprah Winfrey is an African American woman whom has conquered television for decades. Oprah was first born in Mississippi and spent her first few years on a farm with her grandmother. At a young age she already seemed to superior. When I say she already seemed superior I mean she was already reading at a very young age and had skipped not one, but two grade levels. Who do you know that has skipped two grade levels? That fact was shocking because I’ve never known anyone to skip at least one grade level. Also at the age of three Oprah was reciting poems and Bible verses in local churches. To me that is amazing!
